ABANDONED DEPRESSED SINGLE-MOTHER, OF 5 FAITH WANJIRU IN MBEERE EMBU

Heads Up! Passing through the thicket we were directed to a place Faith Wanjiru calls home. The mother of 5 suffered a post-partum depresion after giving birth three years ago. This changed her life forever, Faith lost her job and the husband left her with the children this cave -like matope structure.
Now imagine, she spends cold nights with the children here sometimes going hungry when lack doesn't knock in their door.
Through your generous support we built a two-bedroom house for the family, bought school uniform for the children and paid fees for their education.

The Njooro Project: Restoring Hope for Rahab Ngina
Today, we highlight the touching story of Rahab Ngina, a blind widow and mother of five from Njooro, Kihingo Ward, Nakuru County.

Rahab’s life has been a journey of resilience in the face of unimaginable challenges. She lost her eyesight in childhood and later endured domestic violence from her late husband. Left to raise five sons without proper education opportunities, her struggles deepened in 2007 when post-election violence destroyed her home. With nowhere to turn, the government allocated her a small piece of land where she built a fragile mud structure that has since been her shelter—lacking comfort, safety, and even proper bedding.

In 2016, Rahab’s heart of compassion shone through once more. A 3-month-old baby boy was abandoned at her doorstep, and despite her own hardships, she embraced him as her own. Today, the boy is 9 years old and has become her little helper, guiding her through daily life.

Due to her condition, Rahab cannot engage in work and depends entirely on well-wishers for survival. Her story reached us through one such caring soul, and as Bold Foundation, we felt compelled to act.

When we visited Rahab’s home, we found her living conditions heartbreaking. Together with your unwavering support, we took a bold step to restore dignity and hope in her life. So far, we have: Constructed  a new house for Rahab and installed Solar, provided beddings for her and the young boy, purchased food supplies to sustain them, bought school uniforms and shoes for the boy. Through donors, she will benefit from a monthly stipend of 7000 to support her.

This transformation would not have been possible without the generosity, love, and continued support of our partners and well-wishers. Through you, we are rewriting Rahab’s story—from despair to dignity, from hopelessness to hope.

We thank you sincerely for standing with us. Together, we are not just building a house—we are building a future filled with love, light, and possibility.
